According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Acworth Police Department requested a probe into alleged misuse of that agency’s Flock Safety system. GBI’s preliminary information states that Anthony Trapani, 32, of Rockmart, used Acworth PD’s Flock access for non–law-enforcement purposes while employed there, and that the misuse continued after he transferred to the Emerson Police Department in 2025.

On September 14, 2026, Trapani — by then a former Emerson officer — turned himself in. He was booked into the Cobb County Jail and then the Bartow County Jail the same day. GBI charged him with two counts of Misuse of a License Plate Reader System and Violation of Oath of Office.

GBI said the investigation remained active and that the case would go to the Bartow County and Cobb County district attorneys. What or whom Trapani looked up was not detailed in the GBI release.
